We are familiar with many different hearing aid models from each manufacturer, which is why we have a great track record choosing the right hearing aid for our patients. We know how to look at a patient's ears and lifestyle and determine which hearing aids would be the best fit.

Hearing Aid Styles

Hearing aids come in a number of different styles, depending on your hearing loss and your preferences. These styles are all approximately the same price. The difference in price comes not from size or format, but instead from the technology you choose inside the hearing aid. Even custom-fit hearing aids are the same price as standard models, and they are neither worse nor better. It's just a matter of finding the hearing aids you prefer.

We try to stock hearing aids in many different models, which enables us to fit many patients with hearing aids the same day of their appointment. When we allow people to try different models, we have found that most people prefer the receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids, which are small and placed behind the ears; people love them for comfort, performance, longevity, and durability. However, different patients have different needs, and if you would rather have a different style, we will work with you to make sure you're satisfied.

The full scope of styles includes:

  • Invisible-in-canal (IIC)
  • Completely-in-canal (CIC)
  • In-the-canal (ITC)
  • In-the-ear (ITE)
  • Receiver-in-canal (RTC)
  • Behind-the-ear (BTE)

EarQ 4-Year Warranty

Purchasing hearing devices is an investment in your lifestyle, and this deserves the highest level of protection. The EarQ 4-Year Warranty continues the tradition of excellence patients have always been able to count on, with assurance that any EarQ device will be covered when it is in need of service.

Standard hearing aid warranties last just 1-3 years depending on the level of technology, but we cover any EarQ device for four full years, regardless of which level of technology is right for you.

Ask us about this during your appointment!

Hearing Aids at Hearing Solutions of Alabama

Over the past ten to fifteen years, there has been a transformation in the hearing aid industry as analog hearing aids have been replaced by digital technology. Modern hearing aids are incredibly sophisticated and can change our patients' lives in ways that might surprise you if you are only familiar with older generations of hearing aids.

Most of the effectiveness of hearing aids comes from having them be properly fitted, which is why it's so important to have your hearing aids fit to your ears, and your hearing loss, by an experienced audiologist. Buying hearing aids online, or from a big-box store, may be inexpensive; however, without custom programming by a skilled professional, they won't give you the best hearing possible. If you choose to get your hearing aids from Hearing Solutions of Alabama, you're getting not just the devices themselves but also the services of an expert, who will program your hearing aids as well as help you maintain the best hearing possible.

Hearing Aid Brands

Hearing Solutions of Alabama is one of the only independent audiology practices in the Montgomery area. Because we are not affiliated with any individual brand, we're able to carry hearing aids from a variety of leading hearing aid manufacturers including Oticon, Phonak, ReSound, Starkey, Signia, and Widex. This gives us a wide selection to choose from, so we can find the right hearing aid for each patient. We are also able to help patients who come to us with hearing aids from any brand, so if you need adjustments to your existing hearing aids, we are here to help. Also, if you've been wearing hearing aids from a particular brand and you like that brand, we can continue fitting you with that brand in the future.

Hearing Aid Styles

Today's hearing aids are powerful and effective; they're also discreet and can be almost invisible, even when you're having a close conversation with someone. When you come in for a hearing aid consultation, we'll show you the different hearing aid styles that are available and talk about which one might be the best choice for you.

The styles we offer include completely-in-canal (CIC), in-the-canal (ITC), in-the-ear (ITE), behind-the-ear (BTE), and receiver-in-canal (RIC). Of these, the first three listed are custom-fit hearing aids that are placed entirely inside your ear. They are usually colored to match your skin tone. Patients tend to prefer these if they want to avoid having their hearing aids be visible, especially if they choose the smallest completely-in-canal hearing aids. However, not everyone finds them as comfortable, and the smallest options may not work for more severe hearing loss. Many patients choose the receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids because they are comfortable, deliver the most natural acoustics, and are still mostly unnoticeable.

Hearing Aid Technology and Service Plans

Hearing aids are available at several different price points depending on the level of technology you choose: premium, advanced, and standard. This gives you options depending on your budget and your needs. If you are very active and spend a lot of time in noisy environments, more sophisticated technology will help you hear clearly even in more challenging situations. If you lead a quieter life, the budget-friendly standard hearing aids will be able to give you everything you need.

Each price comes with a corresponding service package, which includes follow-up care and appointments at our office, regular cleaning supplies for your hearing aids, and hearing aid batteries. The premium package covers three years, the advanced covers two years, and the standard covers one year. This is just one way we try to make our hearing aids more cost-effective for patients.

Ordering Hearing Aids

We can order your new hearing aids on the day of your initial consultation if you're sure you want to move forward, but we're happy to wait if you need time to think about it. We never pressure patients to make a purchase. The decision to purchase and wear hearing aids is up to you, and we're here to help support you, no matter what decision you make. If you don't choose custom-fit hearing aids (and many of our patients don't) your hearing aids will be ready in as little as a few days. Custom-fit hearing aids will take a little while longer because we have to make full earmold impressions and mail them off to the manufacturer.

Payment Financing

To help more patients afford to hear their best, we offer 0% interest payment plans for hearing aids purchased from Hearing Solutions of Alabama. Let us know if you're interested in our financing options.
